Thoughts and nonsense

Mom is doing good since her foot surgery yesterday. She is walking without pain and all.
I've been busy moving the summer clothes upstairs and putting the winter clothes away. I can't believe I have so much winter clothing and plenty of Summer stuff.
I have 4 boxes of winter stuff now. lol

GAd I hate people who drive and talk on cell phones. I almost got hit the other day because someone was too busy talking to look to the left.

Went to R's T-ball games. They are learning fast but still have a tendency to just watch the ball go by them instead of chasing it down.
Got my hair cut short today. R saw it and said "Gross". But everyone else likes it. and I like it. I only miss the longer hair when I am trying to think and can't twist my hair around. lol
Mom cut the left web of her thumb today and says it's very painful

and it looks a bit swollen so hopefully tomorrow it will feel better.
She has foot surgery also tomorrow.. not her week I guess.
Mom did another one of her absent minded deals today.
I took the dog for a walk and she knew I was going to do it. When we got back she yelled at me that I hadn't told her and it scared her that she couldn't find the dog.. She saw me putting the leash on him and I told her but she forgot and of course it was all my fault.. sigh It's hard having your parents getting older.

Watched my 7 year old niece today. We rode bikes down to the park near her house and on the way home one of her training wheels fell off the bike.

Of course I didn't have a wrench on me.. a screwdriver yes because my kickstand has a tendency to collapse on me and I need to tighten it. but no wrench.. luckily we found some folks who were moving and asked them for a wrench and a gentleman came out and put it back on for her.
It's nice to live in a smallish town. People are usually more then happy to help with stuff.

Hayfever is starting in on me.. my throat is scratchy and eyes are itchy.
hate taking anything but if I take it tonight it will help me sleep.

Feet are sore after biking 5 miles today.. not my legs my feet.. go figure

thinking of doing a 2nd blog with some great recipes. will see

Well, let me see.
Last night went with Mom to listen to a friend sing in a choral event.
The group was really wonderful and the church where it was being held was just packed.
Went to a couple of yard sales today and got a visor for mom, 2 small candle holders, a frame she'd been wanting.
Then went to a Earth Day program and got a bunch of free stuff.
Made it home just before the rain hit.

Haven't been walking the last couple of days but been doing a lot of bicycling.

good news.. got the toilet fixed. only took the plumber a few minutes so he just charged the basic fee and gave us the flapper for free..so I gave him and his helper some Poppy seed muffins.
Walked 2 miles today.

I know mom is hurting but I am getting a bit tired of her taking it out on me..
tonight we were playing rummy and she put down 3 of a kind which isn't allowed in that form.. So when I said.. that's not this game.. she got defensive and accused me of yelling at her. I did not yell.. I said it in a normal voice. But she can not will not admit she is ever wrong.

Why does the plumbing always break down at the least importune time?
Actually for a change it isn't a bad time.. But just hate having to reach into the tank of the toilet at 2 in the morning..BRRRRR that water is cold.
Just waiting now for the plumber to call or show up.
Mom is having some work done on her foot this afternoon so may have to wait till tomorrow to get it fixed.

Ah well at least I can flush it by hand so to speak..and can use it that is a relief.. hate having to go downstairs to use the john.
almost forgot.. didn't walk yesterday but did ride my bike 5 miles.
Today I walked 1 1/4 miles.
Mom just had some tests done on her foot so next week she gets to have it fixed.(I hope)
The prettiest tree's are blooming right now.. they are a pink ball of cotton candy. Went out and dug dandilions today..got a 1/2 bucket full.
Plumber never showed up
so he should 1st thing in the morning..
I know emergencies happen and a broken flusher on a toilet isn't really considered an emergency. : )

You'd think after only sleeping 4 hrs last night I'd be sound asleep by now. NO such luck. ARRGGGHHHH
Walked 1 1/2 miles today.

Mom is doing her best to drive me nuts.
To back up here for anybody who may not know me but accidently find this.

I work as a live in caregiver for my mom who has COPD and PHN.
Sometimes I think she lives to find something to critize me for.
IE.. I finish fixing dinner and clear up the work area and she looks at it and says.. Looks good.. nice that you clean it up for a change. arrrghhhhh
I clean the house and she finds the one area I haven't gotten to yet and of course has to remark that the house is such a pigsty..

I know her elbow hurts from the Phn and that the breathing gets difficult when she goes up and down stairs so why does she insist on going to the basement.. I do keep the laundry up and can get anything she wants but noooooo she'd much rather make me feel like a lazy useless slug...
I get so tired of her witching because I have to remind her to take her duoneb... It only takes her 5 minutes or so to breathe it in so why does she fight it so?

rode my bike 4 miles today and walked 1 1/3 miles.

Got a nasty cold sore on the lower corner of my lips and boy, is it sore.

I don't care what the weather says.. I got the gas grill out and put out the bird bath. I am tired of seeing dirty birds. lol

Wind is really gusting outside.
the buds on the maple tree outside my window are getting bigger every day.
Now the only trouble is when they drop the outer shells it makes a yellow mess. They dry up after a few days but they are a pain until then.
Maple trees are beautiful but a bit of a pain..
1st is the shell of leaf buds, then come the whirly gigs falling then after a wonder summer of shade the leaves turn beautiful colors then fall and fall and fall and fall.. If I didn't keep on up them I think they'd get 5 feet deep in a number of days. lol

Walked my niece to t-ball practice. She rode her bike so had to really walk fast to keep up with her.
It was so cold....
I walked a total of 4 miles today!!
Those poor little girls were so cold out there on the field. wish the weather would turn nice again...

Walked up to a local 2nd hand store today and bought a couple of books.

didn't see any clothes I really wanted and other stuff didn't catch my eye.
looking for a wallet that is small enough to fit in my jacket pocket and big enough to hold shopping cards and money. lol... plus isn't too ugly or expensive.
Oh well yard sale season is almost here.

I downloaded the new version 7 of msn messenger and it is very obnoxious.. seems to be aiming for the young kids. but I have young nieces who will love it. and I am nothing if not a great aunt. (both literally and figuratively. : }

Walking today I saw daffodils blooming and viola's and tulips all over the place.
Even the dreaded dandelions are everywhere. Every child loves dandelions since those are the one flower they can pick all they want without getting in trouble.
How many vases of dandelion bouquets are in windows right now?

Went and watched my niece play t-ball tonight. Those little girls (ages 5-8) did such a nice job. It was their 1st game so they weren't always quite sure what to do but will learn. They had fun and that is what counts.
The girls looked so cute in their t-shirts which were covering winter coats and sweatshirts. lol
nothing like spring in North Idaho. lol... we were lucky they were throwing snowballs instead of softballs.
