Thoughts and nonsense

well, to start with. The other day we went and bought some stuff for thanksgiving.
Thursday morning no turkey bags. I KNOW WE BOUGHT ONE. where do these things disappear too? We had to make a grocery store run to get one.It disappeared along with the bag of craisins we bought for the relish. luckily I found another bag of craisins the cupboard.
Then I was cutting the neck out of the turkey and mom was helping me and the knife slipped and cut a big cut in her right thumb. It bled like crazy.. So I found a rubber glove I used while dying my hair.. (don't worry it had been washed)lol
and we went on from there.
Then while trying to uncork the wine I managed to push the cork into the wine..which nobody really drank.. 8 adults and only 1/2 bottle of wine used. We are not big wine drinkers our way obviously.
Then my Brother DJ was holding the fruit salad bowl and it slipped out of his hands and broke into 6 pieces. It was an old bowl but no real sentimental value.

but otherwise dinner was good and the group congenial..So next comes Christmas Eve.
but luckily it isn't at our place.. someone elses turn. HURRAH

It is so hard sometimes to have the name you choose.
Today is one of my niece's 18th birthday.. How did she get that big already?

Had my niece spend the weekend. It was fun and busy. She is a cool kid.
She loves 2nd hand stores and yard sales. So we went to St.Vinnies and she got 2 things whose name I can't remember right now, a book and a Bingo game.

I actually won one game..
Leaves are all out in the street now waiting for the leaf pick up and
I have a garage full of wood to stack.

Found a great mousetrap if I haven't mentioned it before.
It's called theintruder and it is easy to use and you don't have to touch the mice it works kinda like a clothes pin so you just press the back and it opens.

2 days no mice.. think I won that round.

though this was a cute pic.. supposedly story going around was that it was made of Marizipan but turns out it isn't. some type of plastic I belive.. but how realistic does it look?

rain a bit today and snow showing up in the mountains around us.
Got leaves almost all raked.
Caught one mouse and at least one more to go.

I went to Goodwill to get a meat fork today. Easy right? HA!
it was wall to wall Christmas time. 7 weeks to go and it's nothing but ugly Christmas stuff.
I mean even the books are all Christmas themed? Clothes were not all Christmas but the music was there wasn't anything else but Christmas themed stuff.
So will boycott Goodwill till End of January.

I wish there was a law that no Christmas stuff can show up in the stores until The day after Thanksgiving and out of the stores by January 2nd. NO MUSIC UNTIL DEC 1
and in private houses NO decorations up until Thanksgiving weekend and MUST MUST MUST MUST be down no later than January 3. OR you will be fined 1000 dollars.

Well, not a heck of a lot to tell.
Watched the "Debate" on West Wing. Still can't really decide whom I want to win.
As a democrat I want the Jimmy Smits character to win..But I am a big Alan Alda fan and want him to win. Oh well they wouldn't listen to me anyway.. lol
Election time coming up here but only race is a couple of city council seats. One guy I know and hope he wins.
got almost all the leaves raked out of the yard. Now just have to wait to put them in the street at the end of the week.

Got some dang mice in the house. they chewed up 4 packages of top roman noodles and left their dang calling cards all over the shelves where we store our food in the basement. ick.. so put a mouse trap downstairs with p.b on it.. hope it catches it.. but afraid there be more than one.

we need a cat but mom is allergic to it.. not really allergic but can complicate her COPD symptoms. and Little bit doesn't go to the basement or would chase anything anyway.

this is a "tattoo" that my niece put on my leg one time. just what the world needs 7 year old tattoo artists. LOL

I've finally got 99 percent of the leaves raked up. Now in 2 weeks will have to rake them back into the street for leaf pick up.

Mom's larynigitis is much better. She's got a bit of a cough but hopefully nothing but an hayfever type of thing. If not better in a few days will make her call the dr. Of course this always happens around the weekend.

Am able to upload pictures today.. why today and not another day?
Oh well, that's for Blogger to know and me to wonder why?

Mom isn't well today.. She has terrible laryngitis. Hope she's not going into pneumonia again.
Been a nice visit with my sister though. She leaves in the A.m to go see some cousins and a surprise party for my Uncle's 85th birthday.
